My SO is turning 30 in a few months, and I want to take him out to dinner to celebrate.
He's definitely a diner-outer, and we've exhausted all of the special occasion fine dining destinations in the city (at least that I can think of).
I am thinking of taking him on a weekend getaway in wine country, and was hoping I might get some good recommendations for dinner places.
I don't want the hassle of trying to book at the French Laundry but I'd still like to take him out to a nice meal. I am also not a huge eater, and while tasting menus are nice, I'd like to have the option of not doing a tasting. Are there any places that:
a) have amazing food and service
b) are somewhat romantic
c) allow dining a la carte
d) have a great cheese cart/plate (as a bonus)
My default will be to book at Cyrus, and if anyone has any reviews, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks so much for any opinions you care to share!
