Cutchogue Diner dinner

This summer the Cutchogue Diner has been open for dinner Thurs-Sat. nights, with a different menu (not diner food). We finally got to check it out last night after getting off the bus. Its a small menu, all entree's $14.95 (with a chicken dish for $12.95)....2 kinds of lasagna, 2 chicken dishes, a mussel dish .....My kids each had the burger, which was much larger than the normal diner burger...My wife had the vegetable lasagna and loved it..a very large portion. I had the seafood risotto...the clams and mussels were astoundingly fresh..perfectly done, not overcooked....I was too wary of mussels to order the straight mussel dish, but these were perfect...also came with a piece of salmon...which was OK, but could have been left out..and a piece of cod, which was excellent, especially for summer cod. Every dish came with a salad, nicely coated with the slightest bit of a light dressing...I also had a very tasty corn chowder...nearly no liquid, just nice chunks of potato, corn, and bacon. Not much of a wine selection...just Borghese chardonnay and the red blend...a few kinds of beer...but overall, I was impressed...we will definitely try it again. Hopefully they will continue doing this...the place was almost empty...but then again, we did get in after 8:30....
