New York chow-poster asked about cheap eats around Granville and Pender and then another loyal Chowperson suggested VCC
i know people who have studied there to become eventual legit chefs (including years ago, a female friend who could not get an apprenticeship because she was / is ---- a female --- interesting story --- in those days, it was HOTEL cheffing - and i think it was CN (in those days that was the Hotel Vanc at 900 Georgia vs Western International -- aka where Howard Hughes stayed)
anyway - curious about how to go about walking in -- are there certain hours, is there certain etiquette -- does one tip? well yes, i'm sure but how much. not sure
we are NOT looking for a "deal" -- we like to support genuine education and the future of genuine food. i think it's fun to be part of the process.
thank you and i look fwd to input as i have always wanted to go to these places and check it out to support the program (not so sure about the VCC hair-cut tho ; ) ... that could be taken wrongly, be assured, i don't mean to detract fr/ their program)
