Cuisine Explosion in Southend

How great is it that there has been such an explosion of cuisine in our own backyard, the southend? I am an avid reader of this site and I think to be able to grab a pizza at stella, anything from fried calamari, rack of lamb or burger at union, tapas at toro, snacks at masa, oysters at B&G,escargot at aquataine or even subs from harry o's makes us all lucky to be in residence (if you're lucky enough)in such a culinary mecca. I love how all of you talk with such vigor and passion of these now-nationally famous hot spots that are almost always mentioned in some cooking magazine or another. Sometimes, I think the only reason to leave the south end is to go to the washington square tavern or via matta and sit at the bar, snack and people watch. But from hammersly's bistro to new arrival's like 28 degrees and solid standby's like Union or for a little poo-poo, the pho, you can spend the night walking from place to place, nibbling as you go, enjoying this new found cuilary road trip for not a ton of bling but a ton of fun. And not the attitude either.
