Cuisinart SB-5600 Blender - Where can I find a replacement jar?

Hi, I have a Cuisinart SB-5600 blender. We have had a tumultuous relationship. While it has the power to do several smoothies a day and a 60 oz glass blender jar, in our early years together, it tended to overheat, and I had to ship it back to the manufacturer three times during the three year warranty. The thing is, the last time they sent a blender back to me, they sent me a really good one. It doesn't overheat, the buttons don't stick. Everything was perfect until my Mom broke the blender jar.

I guess rather reasonably, after 5 or 6 years of fulfilling warranties like mine, Cuisinart decided to discontinue the model and it turns out they don't even make the jar any more. The jar was really the best part. I have scoured the Internet and NOBODY seems to have it. I thought maybe some savvy culinarian out there might know of a source, or of a comparably sized glass jar that fits this unit. Krups, for example, makes a 60 oz jar that looks very similar, but I can't find one in my state to measure it in person, and their call center people don't know the base size.

Any ideas? I've spent about $50 in shipping fees over and above what I paid for the blender, and the motor works so well now, that I hate to give up on it.

Thanks for reading,
Ninrn, New Mexico
