Cuban on Christopher St.: fastest name change ever

xavier | Oct 23, 2002 02:40 PM

I've noticed for a few weeks that a coffee bar/sandwich place on the south side of Christopher just west of Bleeker (i think it was called Christopher's) was being transformed into a Latin place. Always good news. About 2-3 weeks ago it had opened, something that began with a "p" (Padron, perhaps???) Nice logo, nice menus. I looked at the menu, chatted with one of the workers about my love for Cuban food, said I'd come back, etc., etc. Didn't get around to going, but I noticed last night that the old name has been scraped off the window and replaced. Now it's "Havana Village". Looks fine, but there's apparently not a lot of confidence being expressed here....
