The Chronicle article linked below got me thinking again about CSAs (community supported agriculture). I've often flirted with the idea of signing up, but then never do. I'm not really convinced that it makes great economic sense for me, but I do like the idea of getting great quality, getting the produce that's in season, and maybe branching out into fruits and veggies that aren't on my usual shopping list. I am also wanting to make more of a commitment to buying organic, but my convenient neighborhood Safeway doesn't have much selection in that area, and it never looks that great.
So, my question. Does anyone have experience with Terra Firma (highlighted in the article) or other CSAs that deliver to the Bay Area? I'm in the East Bay and ideally would want a pick-up in the Rockridge/Elmwood area, but that needn't limit the dialog for others. Thanks for any feedback!
