Cryptozoology Party Dessert?

gildeddawn | Sep 16, 2013 11:13 AM

So, a friend of mine is having a cryptozoology-themed party (read: Loch Ness monster, yeti, Bigfoot, unicorns, mermaid, giant squids, etc.).

I'd like to bring a dessert that fits the theme, but I can't quite think of anything that's convincing.

Cupcakes or shortbread sprang to mind, since I enjoy making both, but the last thing I want is to draw in frosting or use any kind of fondant, which is the only way I can think to make cupcakes fit the theme - by adding fondant or frosting monsters.

Anyone have ideas on how to fit the theme?

Loch Ness shortbread might work because shortbread is so heavily associated with Scotland, but where's the monster tie?
