Cross Culture in Doylestown

Been meaning to take my friend there ever since John and I went on New Years Eve a coupla years back. The planets finally aligned and I'm so glad they did.
Was nice driving and then walking through Doylestown seeing the shop windows all alight with decorations. The cold weather made us even more appreciative of the warm welcome we received from our server and the host. They have a special priced holiday menu, I think it was 21.00 per person for three courses. My friend opted for the tandoori chicken ala carte and I had to get the shrimp biryani as it is a beloved favorite of mine. I got one order of naan, four slices, thinking it would be enough. I was going to order some raita but the waitress told me that my biryani came with raita. Even though we were offered a complimentary appetizer which we gratefully devoured, I could not get through the meal without ordering more naan. Yum!
The appetizer was delicious spinach balls with a plum sauce and a mint sauce. My friend especially enjoyed the mint sauce so we kept the little dish of it and found it was very enjoyable with the naan as well. Everything was excellent, I really liked the hot tea. The waitress told us the owner gets it from India and his wife mixed up the spices for the tea herself. It was heavenly on such a cold night.
Cross Culture is byob. When I took John for an early dinner on New Year's Eve he finished off all the rest of the bottle of wine I brought when I used the ladies' room. But I know how to get even. Excuse me while I call John and give him a detailed description of the meal I just had. :)
