My husband and I (late 30s) are coming to NYC Friday through Monday in early February. We lived in NYC for several years around 15 years ago, but that was pre-yelp and other easy ways to find good spots. :( We have had a bad year. I was sick through most of it, and I really want a wonderful, fun getaway. We are also ditching our kid with my mom. :) Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
We like good food but are not really "foodies." We don't want to have to get too dressed up...nothing more than dressy jeans, high boots, etc... No jacket and tie. We don't want to spend a fortune on food, but we can afford it if there's something amazing we should try. We like cheap eats as much as gourmet. Also like fun cocktails.
We are staying in Times Square because I'm in the mood for bright lights, but we know how to get around the city....used to live near south st. Seaport.
