Cripple Creek Restaurant in Del Rio

Liz and I were in Del Rio recently and tried a few of the local spots. One worth reporting is the Cripple Creek Restaurant. We drove by and spied a sign advertising prime rib; we returned that night and
the Prime Rib was indeed quite prime. I ordered it medium rare, and that is just how I got it. The salad was not memorable at all, and neither were the cheese sticks, but the service was outstanding. We didn't go for appetizers anyhow; red meat is what I craved. The dishes were all served in order, at the appropriate intervals. This is a trick many restaurants just can't seem to master. Liz had a New York strip, and it also was delicious.
We spotted a dessert tray making the rounds of the room, and I snagged some cheesecake, and Liz' chocolate cake was great as well.
This is a restaurant that one might not expect in Del Rio; none the less it is outstanding!
Located on US 90 west of the US 277 junction near Lake Amistad.
