Crepe House

Unexpected delight! The Crepe House, 429 Gough Street, offers high quality, tasty food. To my surprise, the house potatoes (essentially breakfast fries) were the best I've had in years. Crusty, but not old and tired out - and this was dinner time. My eggplant crepe was filled to the gills with eggplant that was neither slimy nor wet, cheese, sundried tomatoes and basil in a perfect balance. The accompanying salad was a little weak in comparison; it was fine, not wonderful. Given their strength with the crepe, I think they would do equally excellent omelettes.

This unpretentious place is near the symphony, particularly if you are looking for a quick pre performance bite. The meal crepes include the potatoes and salad and range from $7-8.

The service is mixed. On this uncrowded night, the waiter was prompt to take our order, but never came by to refill water or tea.

Open 8am-8:30pm daily. 415 863 2422
