Taking Credit card Info When Reserving in Paris

John Talbott | Sep 29, 201808:49 AM     4

I realize certain restaurants in certain cities in America require you to give credit card info when reserving and I fully support this. Chefs and owners have complained for years about “no-shows” and what damage that does to their bottom line, not to mention food ordering and politeness. But I’ve never experienced it myself in Paris until this week. I think reserving at more than one place, especially in small bistros, or reserving and not showing up, is at best odious. As far as I’m concerned, it’s all to the best to stick it to cheaters and jerks. And I’m glad Parisian restaurateurs have caught on.
