In the past week I've gone from not knowing how to turn on the grill, to using it to make everything from pizza to (grilled) eggplant parm sandwiches. We're in one of the areas in SoFla hardest hit by Wilma, and are being told that we may not have power until Thanksgiving. So with a generator to power our fridge (and occasionally the microwave) and a lot of good spirit, we've been making do, and helping our neighbors.
Can you please share with me some of the things you like to cook on the grill, other than the standard barbeque? There is a gas grill in our condo area that we're currently using to grill marinated chicken, portobello mushrooms and and other veggies, and we've even cooked scrambled eggs on it, and I've made pillsbury crescent rolls -- didn't want to waste my energy making dough by hand until I knew if it would come out. I'd love any other creative ideas you have because our standard fare is going to get very boring if we have to endure another month of this. I love baking, so if anyone has tried baking bread (flatbreads maybe?) or other sweet or savory items, please share your ideas and recipes. Thanks!
