Help Me Create the Perfect Food Day in New York

C. Simon | Oct 29, 2003 01:11 PM

I am a transplanted Boston hound who will be visiting New York next week. In the past, when I visit, in order to maximize chowing and socializing, I trapse across town visiting various chow-favorites, slowing gathering a massive feast. Then, I head to a favorite bar (Blind Tiger or d.b.a), order some Rogue Brutal Bitter or Sierra Nevada Celebration, and spread the food out all over the table, and while the day away.

I am planning to take my father on just such a one-day chow tour to celebrate his birthday next weekend. It will be one Saturday afternoon.

For two hounds that very rarely make it to NYC, where MUST we go? . What stops MUST be included?

Extra points for food that will travel well to Blind Tiger.

1) No seafood. I know, bummer. But, Dad is allergic.

2) No duplicates of my last chow tour: Murray's Cheese, Russ & Daughters, and Sullivan's Bakery.
