There's a deli in DC (called, simple "Greek Deli") that had the best lentil soup in the world. It got me through a decade of internships, crappy first jobs, less crappy later jobs. I've had to leave the area, and now that it is snowing I'm really craving it again. I even wrote them, but didn't hear back.
No tomato. Really creamy and rich, maybe some of the lentils are pureed? Basically, it's heaven in a cheap cardboard pint container. Any ideas? None of the recipes I've found on the internet look close.
