costa del sol - mediocre meal

ed | Apr 5, 200408:14 PM     1

i had strolled by this place before (across from the safeway on mission, near cortland), and noted some very interesting specials on the chalkboard. i walked in to inquire, and the staff was quite nice in explaining, so i put the place on the to do list. i recently had a chance to check it out, but unfortunately, i must report that it was a disappointment. my friends had the seafood and fish soups, which were not very appealing for a place specializing in mariscos. i had something that resembled machaca, which wasn't much better than what i could whip up at home with the odds and ends in my fridge. the frijoles were the only standout, as they were dark, well seasoned and not too wet. i suppose they may make decent pupusa filling.

the saving grace was the band!
