"Corner" restaurant

Just had dinner at this restaurant called Corner on 82nd and Columbus. The chef is a friend and I had run into him months ago and finally managed to go. The food was delicious, every dish worked well. I had pork ravioli followed by delicious duck breast with mashed potatoes. My wife had an arugula salad and then roasted cod which she said was wonderful. The cod was served with a delicious salsa. My mom had an endive salad and then a tiger shrimp appetizer with white beans and balsamic vinegar. My 8 month old baby had a couple of spoons, some spilled water and several portions of several pieces of bread. She laughed a lot, cried a little, but she did not have too much to say about her meal. The desserts, tart apple crisp, champagne zabayon with raspberries, and some tiramisu type thing but with more chocolate, were all surprisingly good.

The chef is actually more of an acquaintance than a friend (I worked for him briefly 5 years ago), but I hope more people discover this place. Their PR people need to get on the ball so that it can stay in business.

All in all it was a surprisingly good meal. Had I not liked it, I would not have posted anything, but I am pleased to be able to honestly recommend a friend's restaurant.
