Copper Beach Inn-Ivoryton

There was a slight problem with my prior post-but for the record, I can't say I recommend the CBI:
We spent the weekend at the Copper Beach Inn in Ivoryton-large, comfy rooms that come with breakfast. I found it a bit disappointing-starts with a small fruit plate, a pastry, and a choice of a sweet or savory (pancakes or eggs, basically). Not bad, but nothing special.
We also ate dinner there. The room seems a bit faded. A pretty nice wine list (had a pretty decent Malescot St Exupery). Salad with apples and gorganzola was nicely balanced. A scallop dish was not, served with tomatoes and olives-the sauce overwhelmed the scallops. Main course of duck with risotto and pork chop with bearnaise and celery root. Both were uninspired-I can think of dozens of places that do it better. Finished with a very good Grand Marnier souffle. Not a good choice for a special evening in my mind-the service was spotty-some good, some clumsy (reaching across plates, a missing fork)-and your talking $200.00 before wine.
