I would like to cook steaks, grilled chicken, catfish, pork chops at home but the problem is that I am in an apartment and can't season a Cast Iron Grill Pan without setting off the fire alarm constantly whenever I re-season the pan.
I would like to cook steaks in particular in a "Fry Pan" not made of Cast Iron; a fry pan which cooks steaks/chicken beautifully? Does anyone have suggestions for cooking steaks, chicken et al in another type of grill or frypan other than CI? Perhaps Stainless Steel w. a very heavy bottom or even a copper bottom? I am an amateur cook so would appreciate any help.
Help I love grilled meats but I can't stand another fire alarm going off due to the smoke in my tiny little apartment.
