I figure a lot of you are also big at home chefs (or maybe some pro's as well) so hopefully I can get an answer.
Many times I see articles or recipes or whatever telling me to adjust the cooking racks to lowest position, middle position, etc, but they never once give me a reason why. This happens quite often with baking recipes in particular.
Broiler, I can understand, electric I can sort of see as the burners coil unit is mounted on top, but as I use a gas oven the need for adjustment makes no sense. I just space them out so whatever I'm making fits in there, I mean, in my head the entire 'box' should be an equal temperature once I set that dial, so 1 or 2 inches isn't going to make any difference - right?
Thoughts / Opinions welcome.
