Cooking with Coconut Milk

When a recipe calls for coconut milk, is there a specific kind you should be using? The selection is so vast nowadays, its mind boggling. You have canned, shelf stable in the carton and a few different choices in the refrigerated isle!

To be more specific, I am making a vegetarian Jamaican stew that calls for 2 cups of coconut milk. Can anyone recommend what to use? Thanks!
