Cooking Channel going down the Food Network drain?

EWSflash | Jun 20, 201506:20 PM

Last night I was looking for something to watch on TV and there was a Cupcake Wars marathon on. Why couldn't they have had it on the Food Network, which is nothing but lamecontests any more? Then I started thinking about CC, and realized that they've been getting rid of watchable cooking shows for a while now. They used to have Luke Nguyen, Ching (forget her last name) quit doing Easy Chinese and went to one of those awful fix-the-restaurant shows, there are the out-of-work actresses that now have cooking shows, which I don't find fun or enlightening at all. In short, it looks like CC is converting its programming into FN all over again. I haven't watched FN in a very long time- there's noting interesting to watch any more. I do't care for the next-network-star, because again, they're all aspiring actors, not chefs with any real knowledge and the show appears to work hard at making them look greedy and viciously competitive. I'm not a huge fan of Bobby Flay, but Brunch with bpobby is the only thing on weekend mornings that's interesting to me any more. Am I seeing a trend, or do I have blinders on?
