OKay, I just got back from attempting to "climb" Fargo St. in Los Angeles on my road bike, (It is the Everest of all streets, the steepest in Southern California) and after 40+ miles and my failed attempt, (although I did get 1/2 up the monster crazy 33%+ grade) I came back to lick my wounds in Woodland Hills....as I rode by Topanga Pizza Cafe I spied something NEW....next door to Topanga Pizza Cafe sat "Obies Cookies"..?
Being the "Grand Master of all things Oatmeal", I had to get the "411", and figured my twin girls would like a couple of choclate chips thrown in for good measure...Like D D Rees(spelling) Obie offiers Icecream sandwhiches for $2.00, and a variety of fresh bake cookies for $1.00 each, they are both large, and very well made. The oatmeal/rasin cookies definately help heal my brused ego! They were amzaing! Not too buttery, nor to sweet. My kids & friends ate 6 or 8 chocolate chip cookies while they "hawked" girl scout cookies in front of the local Tower Records today!
It is really good to have such a great place to turn instead of the local market for quality baked goodies!!! He does gift baskets too! (ala' Snookies)
Obies cookies is at 22994 Ventura Blvd, 2 blks west/north of Fallbrook on the South side of Ventura Blvd. Ph 818 222-6243. I don't know if eating these cookies is ever gonna get me to the top of Fargo St, but at least it will make my failures seem a tad less painful when I cruise back from the Dodger Stadium area to my humble abode in W.Hills to when I can pick a a few fresh baked cookies!!
