The best cookies of the summer?

Lill | Jun 1, 200401:20 PM

I've never been to Sweet Mandy B's, at 1208 W. Webster (and I rarely find myself in that area), but someone brought a box of the most delectible cookies from this bakery to my house this weekend. I was very impressed by them -- a notch above most bakeries. Particularly stellar was the rich peanut butter rice crispie bar with thick fudge frosting and the burnt-sugar goodness of the molasses cookie. Finding a good cookie is a joy -- even my favorite neighborhood bakeries (like Sweet Thang and Letizia's) don't really do justice to cookies (Sweet Thang does pastries and cakes best; Letizia's is better for muffins and sandwiches). These little gems were winners.
