What was condiment "Cowboy's Delight" made of?

oklahomo | Jan 4, 201107:38 PM

I've been wanting to make the recipe for Garlic Ice Cream that Carl Van Vechten contributed to Alice B. Toklas' Cook Book. It calls for an ingredient called "Cowboy's Delight", which probably hasn't been made for 50 years. Would anyone know what it was made of, or what it tasted like?

According to the recipe, Cowboy's Delight was available by mail order from the Old Smoky Sales Co., located in Los Angeles.
