Barney's Hickory Pit is a long standing favorite amongst the locals of Concord, CA. They've been doling out huge servings of ribs, chicken and BBQ pork for umpteen years with no let down in satified customers. I had the rib/chicken combo and was soon waddling in heaps of very well prepared pork ribs and smokey chicken. The BBQ sauce which I ordered on the side was more like a smokey non sweet gravy. Unusual tasting at first, I found myself really enjoying it the next day out of the fridge. The pork was slow cooked and held BBQ flavor in great quantity. A great down home find.
