Two days ago I posted a request on this board for the name of the management at The Water Grill, noting that I had recently visited and had received what I considered abysmal service. Some of you may have noticed that Harvey Friend, the General Manager of that restaurant, posted his e-mail address and asked me to write him directly.
This is an update to say that I sent a detailed letter to Mr. Friend and that I received a thoughtful note and apology almost immediately. He asked for further details, which I provided. For that reason, although I do not know this to be the case, I imagine that I may hear from him again.
Whether I do or not, however, I think it only fair--since I posted my complaint quite visibly--that I acknowledge his responsiveness. He was quick to respond and apologize and, though nothing can eliminate my serious displeasure, Mr. Friend's prompt and courteous apology and promise to investigate further go a long way.
