Comella's in W. Newton

Finally went to Comella's in W. Newton after driving/walking by for over a year. Started with a garden salad..large plate of plain lettuce with a few white onions and large slices of very unpleasant tomatoes and a few thick cuke slices. Your standard cheap garden salad, but for $4.95 I was expecting a bit more. The real stars are the pastas here, though. All homemade with great sauces. I had the fettucine with marinara. Perfect balance of herbs, sweet and spicy on al dente flavorful pasta. My daughter had the shrimp alfredo on fusilli. A ricotta-based version that came with large plump shrimp...more like a gemelli than a fusilli, but splendid! Both portions were so large that we could only eat half. Also had a couple of slices of garlic bread which was respectable but not amazing. Total including 2 small Pellegrinos came to $30..not bad considering the shrimp and portion size. Can't wait to eat the leftovers today........
