Thai Dish on Sunset Blvd. had a nice review in Free Times this week which supported Ellen of SC's good comments. I've yet to get over there. I had the mussels appetizer at Hampton Street Vineyard tonight by Jim (from Que Syrah) and they were outstanding. Fabulous tomato based sauce with saffron and lots of garlic. Lots of great looking items on the new menu. Had a soft shell crab sandwich at Catch 22 for lunch and it was, well.... boring. Big crab, lightly battered, fried perfectly and served on a kaiser roll with lettuce, tomato, onion and that's it. No interesting roumelade, avacado-mayo, nothing. Dry. They should have just served it by itself. Roumelade came upon request, but it was just ok in a little plastic "to-go" container. Mr. Friendly's is offering soft shelled crab specials all weekend with no promises for late comers. I plan to be there at opening for lunch tomorrow for their special. It's herb batter fried on an asparagus-feta orzo salad with a vinegarette, I think. Sounded very tasty. (Having a little eat-out binger here)
