My Colombian Honey Is Gone...

epicure-us | Sep 25, 2001 11:38 PM

...well almost gone. Perhaps the yummiest honey I ever tasted. (Could the high-level of biodiversity that still exists in this part of the Andes be responsible?) My friend, who is stationed in Bogata brought me a holiday gift of a jar last winter. Though it has a positively addicting taste, I managed to ration it well enough to last me this long. But now I am down to the last two or three tablespoons. I would like to replace it with something similar. Does anyone know if there are shops (in Jackson Heights maybe) that would carry a high-quality honey? I don't have much information in terms of region, etc. because the label was a home-made computer printout on cheap paper and fell off recently. I know she bought it on a day trip from the capital, if that helps. The flavour is amazingly fragrent, with an almost jasmine tea-like finishing note. It really tastes like candy. And you thought the "other" Colombian export was addicting. Anyway, any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
