College kids need lots of tasty healthy food cheap? Here's an idea

Thought I'd share with everyone a trick I discovered for a dirt cheap, late-nite (or not) massive tasty snack for two in the East Village. Go to Cosmic Cantina on 3rd between 12th and 13th. (Perfect for NYU or New School students dorming in that neighborhood or others visiting such classy bars as Bar None or Nevada Bob's or whatever they're called.) Cosmic Cantina makes poor-to-good quality Mexican/Texmex food and is open 'till 5am. Order their vegan platter deluxe (yes, I'm sorry, for the thrift part of this trick to work you need to sacrifice the meat) and ask for two extra flour tortillas with extra tinfoil. This is important. The total will be $7. (Or 6. If it's 6, ask for 3 tortillas.) With an order of $7 or more, flash your student I.D. card for a $2 discount. Now it's $5.

The vegan platter is a massive pile of beans, rice, veggies, salsa and guac. Now pile half of the platter onto each tortilla, and roll them into burritos in the usual fashion. (Edge nearest to you over the pile, left over pile, right over pile, far edge over pile--easy. Repeat with tinfoil to hold it together or to take it to go.) Voila! Two delicious, healthy (you owe it to your liver) massive burritos for $2.50 each. Great bargain, and impresses the ladies as well. Enjoy!
