Another Cocotte Post...

Made the pilgrimage down to Cocotte in the Slope yesterday - nice to have a french restaurant within walking distance...

Well, what can I say - it was wonderful! Service was great, as was the food - here's what we had:

Scallops of the day

Fish of the day - my wife had this - was in heaven - also cured her mashed potato envy. The scallops appetizer were served on a bed of delightful mashed potato and a few asparagus tips...

Trout (based upon the suggestion a few days ago - it was *delicious*)

Caramelized apple desert, which was literally to die for...

One little caveat - they still haven't got their credit card link setup yet, so bring lots of cash - alternatively there's an ATM at the deli on the corner of 5th st and 5th ave, just in case you forgot (that saved me from having to wash the plates ;)

While not exactly inexpensive, the quality of the food well justifies the price. Definitely one to check out if you're in the neighborhood (and no - I have absolutely no connection to the restaurant - just a very happy customer!)

I'd also recommend having someone that can roll you back to your apartment/house afterwards, as you'll come out feeling very satisfied :)
