Anyone ever been to this Guyanese restaurant in the Bronx? I run a small eating club with a friend and this was our destination on Wednesday. We learned about it from Baron Ambrosia, a culinary/comedic genius who has a show on Bronx Television (you can also watch the episode on his web site: http://www.bronxflavor.com/)
The staff treated us spectacularly and gave us a TON of food for our $20 pp all-inclusive price: fried shark, chicken gizzards, potato balls, blood pudding and polurie (like small savory doughnuts) appetizers; for mains we had rice and beans, fried rice, chicken curry, curried oxtail, curried goat and jerk chicken as well as dhal poori and roti breads. Everything was FANTASTIC, really some of the best West Indian food I've had: fresh flavors, big portions. In terms of standouts, I would have to name the chicken gizzards, the oxtail, the goat and the dhal poori. YUM! If you've tried it let me know what you think; otherwise get thee to the Bronx and report back!
