These days, cloves are quite expensive. Last week on the east coast I found a fairly small jar of ground cloves (probably no more than 1 oz) selling for around $3 or $4.
By contrast, this week in Utah I purchased a 5 oz jar for about $4 or so.
OK, I imagine that the jar I purchased probably uses lower-quality cloves. Still, this strikes me as a big price difference.
Does anyone here know anything about the economics of cloves?
