Cloudy Chai

Sorry if this is a silly queston... Yesterday I tried making chai from scratch for the first time. I brought some water to a boil with some chai spice mix and black tea, then let it simmer for a few minutes. I then let it cool in the kitchen for a couple hours and put it in the fridge. Today when I checked it, I noticed that the liquid is cloudy brown, as if I added milk to strong tea. Is that what it's supposed to look like? Is my chai still good?
