Cleaning egg film from cast iron?

Dracil | Feb 25, 2012 04:05 PM

So I made a frittata today, and the food got particularly stuck (might've used too high heat/pan not seasoned enough). Anyway, it was pretty stuck on, and I tried scraping it off, using a bit of water and boiling it, actually putting a large amount of water and scraping it (part of the problem is the sides are also pretty stuck on and it's hard to scrape that with a spatula).

So it's pretty much gone, except for bits of "egg film" on the pan, like water stains if you let your kitchenware air dry.

What should I do now? Do I have to use detergent? I currently decided to just try reseasoning it some more but I'm not sure the egg film will cause problems later, e.g. make the seasoning come off when the egg comes off.
