Cleaning copper around handles

kgrey | Aug 20, 201706:54 AM

Does anyone have any tips on how to polish copper in a way that doesn't create a gunk under and around the handles?

No matter what I do this area always gets wet (since I need to polish there, too), and although I hand dry as much as I can thoroughly this wetness then always leads to some green verdigris where I can't reach. There is also always some of the polish left where I can't reach, too, which dries white and crusty and looks unappealing.
