I just returned this weekend to 3 Birds, which is a place I have been to a few times in the past, but not recently. I am so glad that is was as good as ever, and can remain in my top choices for a consistently great meal. It has one of my favorite patios in town, which is large and very green in spite of being right on Detroit Road. My companion and I started our meal with a wonderful poblano and corn bisque and the lobster pizza. For entrees I had the duck and my SO had the halibut, and both were prepared perfectly. Their menu is always interesting, and the preparations seem to showcase the best of the season. I am not a huge sweets person, but I stole a few bites of the deconstructed S'mores dessert. I feel lucky to have such a place in my neighborhood, it is a stark contrast to the chain places at Crocker Park or Legacy Village. It was also great to see that in this economy, people are still willing to go out and support the higher-end independent retaurants.
