The Clarmont restaurant n Columbus closes after 65 years

The Clarmont, a white tablecloth restaurant located 1 mile south of the Ohio statehouse, closed on Sunday after 65 years in business. This was a place, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, where power brokers used to gather in Columbus and you would frequently see the mayor, governor, other state officials, power businesspeople engaged in making deals, etc. It was an institution with an atmosphere straight out of Mad Men, a steak house specializing in prime rib, big steaks and good martinis. While the food slipped a little in the past few years, sad to see this old grand dame bite the dust in Columbus.
