I been a chef in New York City since 1988. Although I never had the pleasure of trying All-Clad anything, almost 30 years cooking with stainless steel cookware, I know a thing or two to say the least. I'm not going to name the cookware we been using the last 3 decades because I don't want anyone to accuse me of promoting something.
I recently bought a 2nd home in the Hampton's as a getaway to escape the city's chaos. I decided to purchase All-Clad's Copper Core collection from Williams Sonoma for the new kitchen. I loved the idea that the cookware is Made in the USA & that All-Clad offers a copper core line. I had high expectations as anyone can imagine.
All-Clad is the pitts... pun intended! Half of the collection pitted! Well did I use salt you might ask? Of course I used salt, that's part of cooking! I didn't buy the Copper Core collection to use as decorations, I COOK with my cookware & from everyday ordinary cooking half of these have pitting after first use! I mean you look at these the wrong way & they pit!
Lifetime Warranty, I know, so I called naturally. All-Clad customer service had a SALTY disposition. The condescending lady said, in a nutshell, it was my fault... blamed the pitting on me. She tried to talk to me like I was in kindergarten & as if I didn't know my own ace from a hole in the ground.
I am compelled to post about my experience because many other customers share the same pitting issues & they are dumbfounded. I could imagine its to no fault of their own! In all 3 decades of cooking with salt in stainless steel cookware, never... NEVER have I ever... EVER encountered pitting.
