City BBQ, Centerville,Ohio (redux)

ArtSpring | May 24, 200410:49 PM

In a previous post, I was less than complimentary to City BBQ. We tried it again and I was quite pleased with both the brisket (moist, some burnt ends, mildly smoky) and the pulled pork (ditto). And the smoked turkey breast, while not typical BBQ fare, was very moist and moderately smoky. So, not all that bad- an enjoyable meal for a decent price.
Ah, but the equiment! Their smokers (looking thru the high wooden fence out back..) is almost surgically clean stainless steel and you can't smell the smoke (there must be strict emission control laws in Centerville!)

So, food ain't bad, but the ambience is pretty sterile... Maybe I will give their ribs a second chance the next time around.

Oh yeah- they do have great half sour pickle slices, for free! I love half-sour pickles. I think I grabbed a couple of containers of them to put in the doggie bag. Mea Culpa, mea culpa...
