Christmas Menu for Large Group

cookinaway | Nov 28, 201612:07 PM     5

I am hosting Christmas Day at my house for 40+ immediate and extended family members. I love to spend time in the kitchen and enjoy modern food while most of my family is more traditional meat(balls) and potatoes. I often find that I overextend myself while entertaining and end up stressed. With three small kids, I would like to simplify the menu. So, what direction would you take a holiday gathering like this? Everyone is expected to bring something to contribute. Some thoughts: pulled beef and pork for sandwiches and have people bring snacks, sides and desserts. Or, someone suggested a pasta bar. Or, we could do baked pasta. OR..... Thoughts??
