A decidedly un-italian Christmas (that will be Christmas Eve). I am hosting my husband's family on Christmas Day. They are all very picky eaters. Here's where I am:
Butternut squash soup
Roasted turkey (probably 15 lb.s) according to "Mom's Roast Turkey" from simplyrecipes.com (it's roasted breast side down).
Stuffing with has bacon, celery, parsley, thyme, etc. Cooked toasty outside the bird.
Mashed potatoes (God forbid I alter them in any way).
Mashed turnips (again, pretty simple)
Is that enough? What am I missing? Earlier in the day I will put out a large crudite platter so there will be raw vegatables. Some mild cheeses and crackers. I know they will love this but it seems very bland, lacking color. Even if I am the only who eats it. The asparagus I saw the other day looked awful. Suggestions? Thanks.
