It's been a tradition in my family to go out for a movie and dinner on Christmas Eve in the city for many, many years. We celebrate Orthodox Xmas in January so this one is more about a cozy, fun meal and a movie.
Last year we went to Crispo, which was pretty good, if a touch loud and bustling. Something along the same lines in terms of budget and rustic atmosphere would work. We're actually going to Del Posto for lunch on the Monday after Xmas so maybe something other than Italian? Spanish, American or French would be fine. Someplace with small plates to share maybe? Since we'll be splurging at Del Posto the cheaper the better...under $30 a person for food only. A local, small place would be great...ideally Union Square, East/West Village area. Thanks!
