i'd like that honor, if it is still up for grabs. its been a looooong time since i've been back here, and the city looks as vibrant as ever. a lot filthier too, but perhaps thats just my westernised eyes.
this morning i got treated to akoori (parsi egg dish) at my neigbours with mounds of fresh toast and perfect balanced parsi type tea: darjeeling, steeped with mint leaves and lemon grass; a dash of milk - no sugar!
tonight its going to be dinner at my dad's club, the willingdon. you go as much for the food as for the pleasure of eating in a relic of the raj. the ghosts of yester-year will be very much in attendance, and i'm looking forward to seeing them.
from bombay i'm off to cochin, in kerala, where amongst other things i hope to score some very rare jewish food. this is just so i can lord it over simon, you understand.
