Chowhound on the Kindle

I've been playing around with browsing Chowhound on my Amazon Kindle eBook reader, which contains a simple browser and free access to Sprint's EVDO network. So far, I am able to navigate from board to board and read posts and responses, but have not been successful at logging in, and therefore can't reply to posts. The "Advanced Mode" setting from the home menu (while in the browser) appears to be useful or necessary for browsing CH; enabling Javascript didn't seem to add functionality. I should note that I'm NOT using CH's mobile portal (which doesn't let you go from CHOW to Chowhound). The browser is smart enough to reformat text on the regular chowhound.com site to make it readable (and it looks quite nice, as shown in the screen capture below). Is anyone else masochistic enough to surf Chowhound on a Kindle, and do you have any tips?
