Yesterday my O.C. girlfriend and I went to Jagerhaus for a late breakfast. I started getting really antsy cause the service stunk BUT, the food sure didn't. For those of you who've been, you know the size of their omelettes. When mine arrived (spaetzel, onions and ham), I immediately cut it in half knowning for sure I couldn't eat the whole thing. But, I chiseled and plowed along with two helpings (full bowls) of their incredible plum jam and before I knew it, the whole thing was gone!!! Incredible!! I know we'll visit again so, thank you chowpals.
Today, it was Maison Akira for late brunch. Other friends and I arrived at 1P and managed to stuff ourselves before the 2P bewitching hour when all was taken away. I was quite impressed with their "homemade" gav lox or smoked salmon. When I asked our server about it, she was kind enough to package up the leftovers for me. Overall, pleasant dining experience but, nothing to write home about. Food is very fresh and diverse. I'm sure the prime rib delicious - I don't eat meat. I liked the Japanese egg cups tho. (In Japan, they're served with a ginko nut inside). Best of all, I was treated for this meal. Again, chowpals, fine suggestion. (I also waivered with Firefly. Maybe I'll try there next time).
Cheers and Happy New Year
