CHOWDOWN: lunch at Casa Maria, Oakland 11/21

Barbacoa fans join susancinsf and me in exploring the offerings at one of Oakland's Fruitvale Mexican district's newest sit-down restaurants.

The specialty of Casa Maria is barbacoa: lamb (or perhaps mutton) pit roasted over wood Mexico City style. Also offered are a wide array of enchiladas and quesadillas made with masa (rather than tortillas).

Where: Casa Maria, 4021 International, Oakland (walking distance from Fruitvale BART)
When: 12:30, Sunday, November 21.
How much: $15-$20/person, not including alcoholic beverages
