Chow sweets...expedition worthy

The ponzu family in an effort to stay in the black, have limited our restaurant meals to 1-1.5 per week. Where we will splurge however is on impromptu outings for dessert. Mrs Ponzu is truly a connoisseur of sweets.

Lately we have been breaking north to Chinatown's Chi Quon Bakery for their excellent "goma dango" as they are known in Japanese. These are the delicious deep fried, sesame studded, gummy rice balls which are filled with sweetened red bean paste. I consider this a great chow dessert. They are ethnic, cheap, and delicious.

Does anybody have other nominees for worthy chow desserts? The best hand made cannoli? A Haitian egg cream to die for? Uzbecki plum tarts anyone?
